Design Management approach

My work is grounded in a structured design management approach that combines human-centered design, strategic thinking, and project management. Each project is developed through a balance of creativity and organization, where user needs, business objectives, and production constraints are aligned to deliver meaningful and feasible outcomes.

How I structure, manage, and deliver design projects from concept to outcome.

Tools and methods

Design Thinking → to structure user-centered solution
SWOT analysis → to evaluate business opportunities and challenges
Gantt charts → to plan and manage project timelines
User journey mapping → to design the client experience
Prototyping → to refine outcomes

My role

-Managing client relationships and expectations
-Structuring workflows and timelines
-Translating needs into design solutions
-Coordinating production and materials
-Ensuring quality and consistency

Researching user needs, context, and opportunities.

Framing problems and aligning with business goals.

Generating concepts and structuring solutions.

Managing execution, production, and quality.

Evaluating outcomes and improving the system.

This process represents a structured approach to managing design projects from initial concept to final delivery. It combines creative exploration with strategic decision-making, ensuring that each outcome responds to user needs, business objectives, and production constraints.

Design process as a system

Brief and research
understanding users and defining project scope

Ideation and sketching
exploring solutions within constraints

Design and development
aligning creativity with feasibility

Prototyping and testing
validating decisions and improving outcomes

Delivery and presentation
managing execution and client experience

How I apply this process

Brief and research → understanding users and defining project scope
Ideation and sketching → exploring solutions within constraints
Design and development → aligning creativity with feasibility
Prototyping and testing → validating decisions and improving outcomes
Delivery and presentation → managing execution and client experience

Beyond the creative stages, I integrate project management tools to ensure efficiency, clarity, and successful delivery.

to refine outcomes

Collaborative projects and partnerships

These collaborations involved managing multiple stakeholders, aligning creative directions, and integrating different brand identities to deliver cohesive and strategic outcomes.

My role as a Design Manager in collaborations

-Aligning stakeholders and creative directions

-Structuring collaborative design processes

-Translating concepts into feasible solutions

-Managing timelines, constraints, and expectations

-Coordinating across disciplines (design, production, research)

-Ensuring consistency between design intent and final outcome

BELLUM

Bellum is a company of herbal cosmetics made with artisanal production techniques. This collaboration focused on aligning Honee’s design approach with Bellum’s identity in natural cosmetics, creating a product that bridges fashion and self-care.

OUTMIND

In collaboration with designer Pedro Valverde, this project explored the development of a sportswear collection that balances performance, sustainability, and design identity.

MUTUO x SAVAGE

This collaboration focused on supporting the development of a swimwear collection for SAVAGE, working alongside MUTUO to translate design concepts into functional and production-ready garments. The project involved pattern making, material consideration, and ensuring alignment between design intent, performance, and manufacturing requirements.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN REGISTRATION

In collaboration with Dr. Marta Molina from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, this project focused on the research, design, and registration of a medical device for the treatment of plantar fasciitis. The process involved user-centered research, product development, and navigating intellectual property requirements to ensure the design met both functional and regulatory standards.
